With the market maturity of 802.11g devices, the second generation of wireless networks has started to enter the corporate environment; reaching significantly higher data rates and comparable transmission distances.
The wireless LAN print server PS54a-G is our first print server using the high-speed "g" standard. It features one parallel and one USB 2.0 HS port to wirelessly connect output devices.
Optimum eavesdropping security is guaranteed by several complementary security mechanisms: In addition to the standard encryption WEP and the lastest standards WPA / WPA2 the PS54a-G supports encryption via TLS and SSL, plus several authentication mechanisms including Cisco LEAP.
The PS54a-G is compatible with all 802.11g compliant products, and backwards compatible with any existing 802.11b infrastructure.
The PS54a-G may be extended using a USB hub to support a total of up to five printers simultaneously.

The function USB to Network (UTN) enables PS54a-G to make GDI printers and non-network-enabled MFPs available via the network. Users can access such devices just as if they were locally connected. The whole functional range of MFPs (print, copy, scan, fax) is available, too. UTN works independent of printer make and model.
